Explore real physical pen-drawn portraits and the robotics behind Sketchy Robotics events. Compare photo, sketch and completed drawing. Does a robot actually draw it? Yes. A Rotrics DexArm robotic arm holds a real pen and physically draws on paper. Your keepsake is an ink drawing, rather than a printed photograph. How long does a portrait take? Timing depends on the approved style, detail and number of people. We confirm a realistic portrait plan for your event after reviewing the scope; we do not promise unlimited drawings or a fixed hourly capacity. Where do you travel? We are based in Bakersfield, Kern County. We consider events throughout Central and Southern California and north , subject to availability and travel logistics. Can you personalize the experience? Tell us about your theme, event and branding. Artwork customization and multiple-station requests are scoped and confirmed in your proposal. What does the setup need? We review table placement, reliable power, photo area, guest queue, accessibility, loading access and protection from weather with your venue. Final requirements depend on the agreed configuration. How much does it cost? Each event receives a custom quote based on duration, location, drawing scope, staffing and equipment. For private, non-corporate events more than 140 driving miles from Bakersfield AND requiring an overnight stay, a $500 charge applies per required overnight night. Distance alone does not trigger this fee. Mileage and overnight requirements are reviewed with your proposal. Corporate and convention travel is quoted individually.
