What Sketchy Robotics does
Sketchy Robotics brings a real drawing robot to your event. A Rotrics DexArm robotic arm holds an actual pen and sketches each guest's portrait on paper while everyone watches, so people leave with an ink keepsake instead of another digital photo. We bring the experience to weddings, quinceañeras, birthdays, corporate events and trade shows, and we explore keepsake kiosk pilots with venues. Browse the artwork gallery to see the illustrative style direction.
How a robot portrait booth works
- A guest steps up and we take a quick reference photo.
- The approved portrait style is applied to that photo.
- The robot draws the portrait line by line with a real pen.
- The guest takes home a finished ink keepsake.
Watching the arm work is part of the entertainment, and timing depends on the style, level of detail and number of people in each portrait. We confirm a realistic plan for your guest count once we review your event. Read the full how it works walkthrough for setup and space details.

Robot caricature FAQ
Does a robot actually draw it?
Yes. A Rotrics DexArm robotic arm holds a real pen and physically draws on paper. Your keepsake is an ink drawing, rather than a printed photograph.
How long does a portrait take?
Timing depends on the approved style, detail and number of people. We confirm a realistic portrait plan for your event after reviewing the scope; we do not promise unlimited drawings or a fixed hourly capacity.
Where do you travel?
We are based in Bakersfield, Kern County. We consider events throughout Central and Southern California and as far north as Sacramento, subject to availability and travel logistics.
Can you personalize the experience?
Tell us about your theme, event and branding. Artwork customization and multiple-station requests are scoped and confirmed in your proposal.
Plan your next step
Every event gets a custom quote based on duration, location, drawing scope and staffing; see pricing for what shapes the cost. Planning a wedding, birthday or family celebration? Start a private event quote. Organizing a brand activation, conference or trade show booth? Use the corporate quote form. An inquiry starts the conversation and does not reserve your date until terms are confirmed in writing.
